Newly Engaged? Here's What to Do in the First 60 Days

Congratulations on your engagement! As a century-old wedding venue that's hosted countless celebrations (and even housed a bowling league back in the day - yes, we still have the lanes!), we know a thing or two about getting started with wedding planning. Here's your streamlined guide to those exciting first two months.

First Things First (Days 1-15)

Enjoy & Protect

  • Take a week to simply celebrate before diving into planning

  • Get that gorgeous ring insured (trust us on this one!)

  • Create a dedicated wedding email account - future you will thank us

Set Your Foundation (Days 15-30)

The Big Three

  1. Guest List: Create a preliminary count (this drives everything else!)

  2. Budget: Have those important money conversations early

  3. Timeline: Choose your preferred season and rough date range

Research Phase (Days 30-45)

Venue Search

Start researching and touring venues - plan for about an hour per tour to really get a feel for each space. Pro tip: ask about the venue's history! Some of our favorite weddings at The Green Ridge Club have incorporated elements of our 100-year story into their celebrations.

Looking for a full-service venue? Wedding packages in our area typically start around $75 per person. Our newly renovated luxury bridal suite is a particular favorite for those getting-ready photos!

🎉 Save the Date: Join us for our Bridal Open House in March 2025!

Make Initial Decisions (Days 45-60)

Priority Bookings

  • Schedule venue tours

  • Research photographers

  • Consider a wedding planner

  • Start thinking about your wedding party

Quick Tips for Success

  • Create a shared planning folder (physical or digital)

  • Set up a wedding-specific savings account

  • Establish planning-free days (date nights without wedding talk!)

  • Remember: not everything needs to be decided immediately

Looking Ahead

The first 60 days set the foundation for your entire planning process. Focus on these key elements, and the rest will fall into place. And remember, this should be fun! (Though maybe not as fun as those vintage bowling leagues - but we digress!)
